According to The Sun on Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier is a £50m transfer target for Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich.
As per reports, the German Bundesliga champions are considering an offer for the England international midfielder, who was heavily linked with rivals Manchester United earlier this summer window. The German club believes the midfielder might be available and that they have a better chance of signing him than Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.
The 23-year-old Tottenham star joined Spurs from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon back in 2014 and has since sealed his place as a prominent member of the club and country.
Although Tottenham owner Daniel Levy and manager Mauricio Pochettino are not willing to sell another star player following Kyle Walker’s move to Manchester City, particularly given they are yet to make a single signing of their own this summer.
But Tottenham could be lured to cash in on the midfielder if Dier shows any intent on moving to the Allianz Arena, the report stated. The proceed from his sale could be invested in signing Everton and England midfielder Ross Barkley.
Dier, who can also play in defence, made his England debut against Spain back in 2015 and has since played 19 matches for the Three Lions.
But having sold Kyle Walker to rivals Manchester City, Tottenham may be unwilling to let another star player leave.
