Danilo: This Is The Reason Why I Rejected Chelsea For Man City

After emerging as a target for both Chelsea and Manchester City this summer, Brazilian star player Danilo eventually snubbed Chelsea and made the move to the Etihad Stadium in a £26.5 million deal.

And the now former Real Madrid defender has admitted it was not a difficult decision to reject a move to Stamford Bridge despite that Antonio Conte’s side were in the running to secure his services from Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old revealed that it was a phone call with the Manchester club that convinced him to snub a switch to Chelsea.

He also added that Real Madrid’s French boss Zinedine Zidane tried to convince him to remain at the Bernabeu, but his mind was already made up for a change, as he desire an upgrade in his career.

Danilo was signed from Porto following his impressive performances at the Portuguese side. However, he keeps struggling for regular game time at the Bernabeu and he made the decision to join a place where he had more options.
