Manchester United will have a smile when Cristiano Ronaldo joined Juventus for £88million this summer transfer window.
According to new reports circulating in the media, the Portugal captain is set to join the Turin club after he decided to dump Real Madrid.
The superstar had a lucrative time at the Bernabeu, winning a lot of trophies and personal awards at the Spanish capital since he arrived about nine years ago.
He has reportedly agreed personal terms with Juve, and the Serie A champions are understood to have submitted a £88M bid to Real Madrid.
The 33-year-old has been heavily linked with a move back to Manchester United before now, but there are speculations manager Jose Mourinho is not interested in bringing him over to Old Trafford, the tactician prefers strengthening other areas of his team.
Nevertheless, the red devils will gain from the player’s switch to Juventus and will receive a financial windfall from his move out of the Bernabeu.
Manchester United signed an 18-year-old Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon years back, and they are to receive some amount of money from his move to Juventus ( under the Solidarity Mechanism rule by FIFA)
The rule was crafted for sides that developed players at their tender ages but do not necessarily benefit from the development of the players.
