According to reports, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will push the club’s management to use the funds derived from the sale of Nemanja Matic to sign one of his major targets.
Even though Conte has been able to bring in Alvaro Morata, Antonio Rudiger, and Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea this summer, the former Juventus manager has missed out on a number of other players and has endured a mixed transfer window so far this summer.
It is understood that the Italian manager was not pleased seeing his top target Romelu Lukaku being snatched by Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United after failing to get either Danilo and Leonardo Bonucci also.
He however remains hopeful of adding more quality to his squad before the end of this summer transfer window, and Nemanja’s exit will reportedly enable him to pressurize his side to do more business.
The Serbian helped Chelsea clinch two premier league trophies in the space of three years but was given the chance to talk to Man Utd earlier in July with a deal for Tiemoue Bakayoko already completed.
Now, that a £40M deal for Matic to Old Trafford is on the way, the Chelsea boss hopes the money will be used to bring in other players into Stamford Bridge.
And The Daily Mirror said Antonio Candreva, Alex Sandro, and Virgil van Dijk are Conte’s three top targets, and the Italian manager will love bringing in any of them before the commencement of the upcoming campaign.
