Confirmed: Ex-Liverpool Manager In Newcastle Talks Over New Deal

Newcastle United are desperate to keep manager Rafael Benitez at the club beyond this summer.

The Spanish tactician has few months left on his current deal at the St. James Park but he has doubts over transfer dealings at the club thereby fuelling the reluctance to commit his long-term to Newcastle United.

The Magpies faithfuls want him to stay at the club and there might be light at the end of the tunnel for them according to English media portal Shields Gazette.

It was revealed that Rafael Benitez has entered into the second round of talks with senior Newcastle United officials over a new deal for him potentially.

Benitez has done a good job for the Magpies in the last two seasons in the Premier League.

He led the Magpies to Premier League safety in both seasons including a tenth place finish in the last league campaign in the top flight of English football.

Rafael Benitez became the Newcastle United manager in 2016 but he could not save them from suffering Premier League relegation.

He took charge with a handful of games left to play.

The former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager guided Newcastle United back to the Premier League in 2017 but he has had a topsy-turvy relationship with club owner Mike Ashley over transfers.

Rafael Benitez is fondly remembered at Liverpool after leading the Reds to the 2005 Champions League title.
