It has been confided that Ajax director and former Gunners Marc Overmars was stopped from having a switch to his former team as the new technical director.
Marc Overmars was earlier linked with the job with claims that he is ready to move in but Ajax were unwilling to part ways with him because of how valued he is at the Amsterdam club.
The former Arsenal player has been a major force at the club and a revelation since taking up the role as he has helped the club financially as well as in the recruitment of players.
Marc Overmars helped Ajax in making huge sums from sales of players, one of which is the sale of Frenkie De Jong of recent for a fee of £75 million.
The Ajax director who won the league with the North London outfit as a player in 1997/1998 since moved on to maintain his strong relations with the Amsterdam club.
