Chelsea star Eden Hazard has confirmed he is willing to sign a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium international forward, who has been with the Blues since the summer of 2012, has been repeatedly heavily linked with a staggering transfer to Champions League winners Real Madrid over the last two summers.
The Chelsea attacker has flirted with the idea of linking up with Real Madrid, often praising Real manager Zinedine Zidane, but has now confirmed he will extend his contract extension at the West London club.
The 26-year-old also disclosed his new contract would come after teammate Thibaut Courtois, another reported Real Madrid transfer target, signs a new contract at the club.
Asked if he would pen a new contract at the club, Eden Hazard informed the Daily Mirror: ‘Yes. I [Eden Hazard] think Thibaut [Courtois] first. Then I {Eden Hazard}will sign.’
The player’s statement will come as a massive relief for Blues fans, who were becoming fearful their most priced asset would leave to join Real Madrid.
The attacking midfielder, who has won the English Premier League titles twice, has two 24 months left on his current deal and the Blues are thought to be ready to make the skilful attacker the highest paid footballer in British top flight.
