Reports claim that Serie A club Sampdoria has confirmed that premier league club Chelsea has made an offer for striker Luis Muriel but Sampdoria are not interested in selling unless the blues meet his 30.5 million pounds release clause.
Ibtimes revealed that the 25-year-old striker who joined Sampdoria from Udinese in 2015 has been linked with a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window with Napoli also said to be interested after forward Arkadiusz Milik ruled out for a long time because of cruciate ligament injury.
When quizzed on if Chelsea had made an offer for the striker, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero speaking to Fantagazzetta he said “Yes, there is an offer, so they tell me. But Muriel is not for sale. For €35m (£30.5m) we can talk.”
There are claims that Napoli had already made an offer for the Colombian International. Speaking to Football Italia earlier this week on the Napoli offer, Ferrero stated
“Aurelio [De Laurentiis, Napoli’s club president] hasn’t called me for Muriel because the player is not for sale. At the moment, I’ll hold tight to him and stay calm, given that De Laurentiis hasn’t called me. To think, when Muriel wasn’t playing they wanted to give me €15m for him when I paid €12m, but I said no! Muriel has a clause of €35m, but De Laurentiis is a magician of clauses.”
The Sampdoria striker has scored four goals in 12 matches for the club this season and it seems Sampdoria are not going to let the striker go without a fight.
