According to reports coming from Spain, La Liga champions Real Madrid are getting more likely to sell one of their star players – in the person of Gareth Bale – next summer.
Bale was strongly linked with a move away from the Madrid club during the past summer transfer window after emerging as a target for premier league heavyweights Manchester United. Even the club’s Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho admitted via Metro he would make a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur player if he becomes available.
But no deal was sealed for the 28-year-old before the transfer window was slammed shut, and the talented player remains at Madrid for another campaign.
However, Spanish news outlet El Confidencial (via Metro) are now claiming that Real’s president Florentino Perez, would consider offers for the player if they were able to recoup the €100 million they spent to bring him to Spain four years ago.
It was also added that the club’s management are no longer happy with Bale’s recurring injuries, losing his relevance in the club.
Last season, the Wales international was able to get just 17 starts in the La Liga as a result of issues in his calf.
He couldn’t also play for Wales during the current international break as a result of a current injury, and could only watch from the stands as his country missed out on a World Cup qualifying play-off spot following a 1-0 defeat to Ireland.
