Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Senegalese international star Sadio Mane is the best player at Premier League leaders Liverpool this term ahead of star man Mohamed Salah.
The former Reds centre back said that he’ll pick Mane over Salah as the best Liverpool player while he was doing his punditry job on Sky Sports.
According to the Liverpool legend, the goals scored by Mane has been very important especially in the past weeks.
Sadio Mane has been the form player for Liverpool since the turn of the year.
Jamie Carragher also highlighted his opening goal during the home win over Chelsea at the weekend and how important it was in the Reds’ quest to win the Premier League title for the first time in their history.
After a goalless first half between Liverpool and Chelsea, Sadio Mane opened the scoring for the Reds with a 51st minute header off an assist from rejuvenated Reds captain Jordan Henderson.
Mohamed Salah then scored a world-class goal two minutes later to give the Reds a 2-0 lead which was maintained until the end of the game.
Mane has scored 18 goals for Liverpool in the Premier League this season as he’s just one short of topscorers Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) and Salah.
