Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest: This youngster dazzled in first team training ahead of Carabao Cup

Ethan Ampadu

Chelsea FC hot prospect Ethan Ampadu was a shock inclusion in the first team squad yesterday as he trained ahead of Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup match.

Manager Antonio Conte could hand the 17-year-old starlet his debut for the Blues when Nottingham Forest visits Stamford Bridge.

Coming from the back of a goalless draw with London rivals Arsenal at the weekend, the Italian tactician pushed his players to the limit at their Cobham training ground.

Despite the fact that top players like Belgian Eden Hazard, Englishman Gary Cahill and Spaniard Cesc Fabregas all put through their pace routine, you can be sure that Antonio Conte will rotate his lineup with one eye on the Premier League fixture against Stoke City on Saturday.

The Italian will give youngsters like Ampadu signed from Exeter City in the summer transfer window, to announce himself to the Blues faithful.

The defensive midfielder played 13 matches for Exeter last season, becoming their youngest player ever in the process.

The Welsh man who made his first-team debut in the League Cup at the age of 15 years, could find himself on the substitute bench next to fellow wonderkids like Charly Musonda and Jake Clarke-Salter who also trained with the first team.

Belgium international Eden Hazard could also make the starting XI as he looks to recover fully after an ankle injury.
