Chelsea Top Target Rejects New Lucrative Deal From Club

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has emerged as a target for both Chelsea and Barcelona this summer and he seems to have a preference for the Spanish top flight.

Although his French club does not want him to leave and are ready to offer him a better deal, it appears his heart is already set on an exit from Paris.

According to new reports, the player has rejected a contract worth over £8million a year at PSG as he looks to force a transfer to Barcelona.

Premier League champions Chelsea are also interested in signing the Italian midfielder, but recent reports claimed he’d agreed to personal terms with a move to Barcelona.

The Italy international has long been regarded as one of the top midfield playmakers in world football, and PSG are determined not to lose him this summer despite his keenness to move on.

Verratti has grown into one of the most important members of the PSG squad but has reportedly given the club some headache by ignoring a new deal that remains on the table for him during a meeting between himself, his agent, and the club.

Patrick Kluivert, speaking recently about the player, admits that Verratti wants to go, but he expects PSG to demand huge money for him if he does end up leaving.
