French football legend Zinedine Zidane has returned to the club following his appointment earlier on Monday.
Zidane was named the Real Madrid manager on Monday evening after Santiago Solari was sacked.
The 46-year-old was unveiled as the new Real Madrid at a small ceremony shortly after his appointment.
Zinedine Zidane was linked with the managerial job at Chelsea in February when Blues boss Maurizio Sarri was under pressure but the Italian has managed to turn his fortunes around at Stamford Bridge.
Zidane and Derby County manager Frank Lampard were both linked with Sarri’s job.
Frank Lampard is the record goalscorer in the history of Chelsea.
Zidane returns to Real Madrid for his second spell at the club just nine months after he resigned from the managerial job at the Estadio Santiago Bernebeu.
According to him, his love for the club played a key role in his decision to return to manager Real Madrid once again.
He has put pen to paper on a three-year deal until the summer of 2022.
During his first spell at the club, Zinedine Zidane led Real Madrid to an unprecedented three Champions League titles in a row.
The last of those Champions League titles was won last summer via a 3-1 win over Liverpool.
Zinedine Zidane became a cult hero amongst the Real Madrid faithfuls when he scored a magnificent goal to help the Los Merengues win the 2001/02 Champions League title via a 2-1 win over German club Bayer Leverkusen only for him to surpass that feat as the club’s manager.
