Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj is on the verge of putting pen to paper on a contract extension with his club thus shutting down transfer rumours of a move away from the Champions League campaigners.
The Albanian international right-back has been the subject of transfer reports linking him with a transfer to the Premier League.
Hysaj has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United but it seems like the two clubs will have to look elsewhere following the news of the contract extension.
The latest development over a possible new contract at Napoli for the 24-year-old was revealed by his agent Mario Giuffredi.
According to him, contract negotiations with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis are going on well and that talks are at an advanced stage.
Mario Giuffredi made this known during the Italian Sports Awards.
He was one of the winners at the award ceremony after he was named the best agent in Serie A and Serie B.
Elseid Hysaj has grown to become an integral part of the Napoli team since he joined the club from fellow Italian Serie A side Empoli in 2015.
He has featured in 11 of the 12 league games this season in addition to one of the four Champions League games in Group C.
