According to latest reports, English Premier League table leaders Chelsea, are set to make moves for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Valencia right-back Joao Cancelo in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Yahoo Sport reported that Chelsea Italian manager Antonio Conte has requested that Chelsea’s hierarchy bolster the squad with new signings at the end of this season.
The former Juventus boss reportedly asked Chelsea’s board to sign Lukaku last year, explored the possibility of a potential deal last January and is ready to launch a new effort this coming summer.
Romelu Lukaku who is valued at £70 million by his current club Everton, has scored 16 times in 23 appearances this season so far. The talented player is viewed by the Chelsea tactician as a ready-made replacement for Diego Costa.
Also wanted by Chelsea last summer is Joao Cancelo. And now, the Stamford Bridge club are also ready to revive their interest in him after failing in their move for the Portugal international last summer.
The 22-year-old defender is valued by his club Valencia at €30m (I.e £25.6m), and is also wanted by Barcelona.
Nevertheless, we think the blues have an advantage in the race for Cancelo as Barca will not be able to compete with the Premier League club unless they sell players first.
