Leicester City star player Danny Drinkwater has been in the news recently after emerging as a target for premier league champions Chelsea this summer.
He has been strongly linked with making a move to Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes, and in a new development, the Mail Online are reporting that the Blues are confident of finalising a deal worth around £30 million for him.
It was suggested that Antonio Conte’s side will offer an initial fee of £25 million that will include £5 million in add-ons.
Last summer, the Englishman signed a new deal with the Foxes, but it is understood that he is interested in joining a big side like Chelsea even though regular playing time is not guaranteed.
A few days back, there were reports that Chelsea submitted a bid in the region of £15 million for the midfielder, but his club rejected it outrightly.
It is understood that the foxes want a fee closer to £40 million for Danny, but it is believed that they could agree to sell him to Chelsea should they be offered £30 million.
Antonio Conte is currently lacking numbers in his midfield department and has urged the club’s board to bring in as much as four new players before the end of this summer transfer window.
Conte will be leading his side to Wembley to clash with Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
