Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has praised his team’s response to pressure from both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur after his side’s 3-0 win at Leicester City on Saturday.
Tottenham kicked off the Premier League action with a big 4-0 victory against West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane with Harry Kane scoring thrice. This moved Tottenham to within four points of the leaders.
Arsenal also clinched a 4-0 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
The blues held their nerve at the King Power Stadium after a 3-0 victory against the defending Premier League champions Leicester City, thanks to goals from Marcos Alonso and Pedro Rodriguez.
However, Conte speaking at his post-match media conference at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening, heaped praises on the boys for holding their nerve at Leicester even after their title rivals put them on pressure.
“We started the second part of the season, we played the second game. Every game now, the points are very heavy for all the teams. We stay on [the] top of the table and if you win you put pressure on the other teams,” he said.
He confessed that his side started the game with great pressure after the Tottenham and Arsenal victories, adding that they must show good experience to manage the situation.
“In every game it will be very important to not lose points.” he concluded.
