According to Daily Mirror, Chelsea have allegedly made a move to beat Premier League rivals Manchester United to the £50million move of Juventus fullback Alex Sandro.
The Brazil international left-back has emerged as a top priority transfer target for Chelsea this January transfer window, with the Blues head coach Antonio Conte looking to reinforce in a couple of departments after a tough start to the campaign.
The Blues currently sit third in the English Premier League, but are 17 points adrift league leaders Manchester City as any hope of defending their title seems to have died.
Signings like Alex Sandro may not be just enough to save the title this campaign, but could still be a major boost to the side’s hopes in the UEFA Champions League and for years to come.
Sandro, 26, is seen as one of the best full-backs in the round leather game in recent times and looks ideal to feature in the wing-back role in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 setup.
The Mirror suggest the Turin giant are now set to do business as regards Sandro and have already started seeking for replacements for the left back in defence.
The outlet also suggests Chelsea are aware of transfer interest from Manchester United, who also have their own issues in that position and could also bring in Rose from Tottenham Hotspurs in the left back position.
