Arsene Wenger is in the hunt for an 'experienced' attacker before the transfer window closes. The Arsenal boss saw his side claim a 2-1 victory over the MLS All-Stars in San Jose . A late goal from Chuba Akpom, who spent last season on loan at Hull, settled the contest in the 87th minute when he tapped in a Nacho Monreal pass from close range, after Didier Drogba had levelled the match following the game’s opening goal from Joel Campbell. But despite the defeat, and attackers Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez still to return from their … [Read more...]
Klopp questions paying £100m for a footballer
Jurgen Klopp believes signing any player for £100million is a huge transfer risk and says Liverpool will never operate like that with him in charge. The Reds have spent over £60m this summer – more than any other Premier League side – but their biggest single outlay has been the £34m paid to Southampton for Sadio Mane. Premier League clubs have spent a combined £500m on players in this transfer window as the added money from new television deals filters through to the clubs, and fees have risen as a result. Jordon Ibe, with one goal in … [Read more...]

Cech: Arsenal shouldn’t buy for the sake of spending
