Breaking: Liverpool targets Moussa Dembélé in January, Klopp eager to sign him

Information coming out of Glasgow indicates that Liverpool FC are planning a £20Million January bid for Celtic’s French sensation; Moussa Dembele. This will be a new Scottish transfer record if it materialises.

However, doubts remain over the likelihood of such deal happening. First, Liverpool are the most prolific side in the EPL. And this has been achieved with Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi playing nominal roles. Hence the question; do Liverpool need another striker? Besides, Dembele, who has scored 17 goals in all competitions this season, was recently quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times to have stated his desire to remain at Celtic’s Old Farm home.

However, despite his public statement to the contrary, this transfer could still happen. The huge transfer fee being muted may prove too tempting for Celtic who only played £1Million compensation fee to Fulham for the services of the 20 years old just 6 months back. Similarly, the lure of being part of Jurgen Klopp’s army aiming to restore the glory days to Anfield may prove too strong for the player himself.
