Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has revealed that there will be talks over his future at Anfield at the end of the season, dismissing reports that he wants to leave the club.
The 30-year-old midfielder recently celebrated ten years at Liverpool amid rumours that he is angling for a summer move after falling on the pecking order at Anfield. There are speculations that Jurgen Klopp will bring in reinforcements to his current squad next summer and Lucas might be offloaded but the midfielder has debunked such claims but admitted he was close to leaving Liverpool “many times” during the past decade.
He said: “It will always be a good decision for both parties.
“But I know he’s the manager and he makes decisions for the team, it’s not just about one player. So I have to keep working to get more chances.
“Now we just focus on the final four games and try to finish in the top four, which will be a good achievement for this year, then I’ll sit down and talk to see what is best.”
Liverpool will hope to bounce back from their Premier League loss to Crystal Palace when they play Watford at the Vicarage road on Monday.
