German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have opened talks with French club Paris Saint Germain (PSG) over the possible transfer of midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The interest of Bayern Munich was confirmed by the Daily Mirror.
Rabiot, 23, has been attracting the interests of several European clubs following his contract standoff with French Ligue 1 giants PSG.
He has less than six months left on his current deal with PSG and has already told the club that he won’t sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes.
Adrien Rabiot has already turned down numerous contract offers to stay at PSG beyond the end of this season.
Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona were the overwhelming favourites to sign the six-cap French international but his agent/mother Veronica has failed to agree a free transfer move with senior club officials at the Nou Camp and that has opened up the possibility for Bayern to hijack the transfer.
Bayern are willing to pay a transfer fee in January to sign the Frenchman rather than secure him on a free transfer this summer.
Apart from Barcelona and Bayern Munich, several clubs are also interested in a transfer for him.
European clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have also been mentioned as potential transfer destinations for the young French midfielder.
