The Spanish Football Federation recently made it known that the blues new boy Alvaro Morata has sustained a myofascial injury to his hamstring muscles, which means the Spanish forward could actually be sidelined in the club’s next seven games.
Morata limped off the pitch holding his thigh during Chelsea’s Saturday premier league game against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte initially suggested the player had been withdrawn only to avoid something more dangerous, but it was more serious than first realised.
The former Real Madrid striker is now likely to sit-out for up to six weeks for his recovery – which means he won’t be available for his side’s busy fixtures this month.
Chelsea will first play Crystal Palace immediately after the international break and will be going on to play six more games in less than 23 days.
After playing AS Roma (both home and away in the Champions League), Watford (PL), Everton (EFL) and Bournemouth (PL), the premier league champions will open November with a clash against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Morata has been impressive this season so far and now have six goals to his name in the premier league. And it will be good news for Manchester United if he won’t be available for the important game on the 5th of November.
