Daniel Cousin, the Gabon national team manager has dropped a hint on the future of Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the national team.
He said Aubameyang might quit anytime soon as a result of the recent discontent at the country’s football association.
This followed by the appointment of his father by the country’s FA as co-coach without any acceptance of the offer.
The player has claimed that his father is currently battling some health challenges and would not be able to take up the role.
Cousin who claims to have a good relationship with Aubameyang’s father said he is unsure if the player will honour any invitation from the national team as a result of that.
According to him, Aubameyang’s presence is needed to help the country qualify for the 2019 African Nations Cup but should he opt out, there will be a need for another option.
Cousin, however, remains positive that the issues with the country’s FA will stop the player from returning for national team assignments.
Aubameyang was part of the team that lost against Zambia and had promised to return for the next game.
The Gunners striker was on the scoresheet in the club’s 2-0 win against Everton at the weekend.
