Time To Go: Ex-Chelsea Star Sets Sights On Bournemouth Exit

Bournemouth shot-stopper Asmir Begovic is ready to leave the South Coast club in search of more first-team opportunities after losing his place in the starting XI at the Vitality Stadium.

This is according to the report from popular English news platform Daily Mail which claimed that the former Chelsea goalkeeper is not happy with his current status as the third choice goalkeeper at Bournemouth.

Asmir Begovic has been a regular for both club (Bournemouth) and country (Bosnia and Herzegovina) for the majority of this season and he’s not expected to be short of suitors this summer though it remains to be seen whether those interested will be from the Premier League.

The Bosnian shot-stopper moved from West London giants Chelsea to the Cherries at the start of last season and he was the undisputed first choice at Bournemouth until January when he was dropped from the team.

Asmir Begovic was dropped from the Bournemouth starting XI following a run of nine defeats in 12 games.

Since Polish goal minder Artur Boruc took his place, Begovic has played just twice.

Boruc has since been relegated to number two and Begovic to number three following the emergence of Mark Travers who was superb for Bournemouth on his debut against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Travers made several saves as Bournemouth beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at home in what was their last league game at home this season.

It was the Cherries’ first win over Spurs since they gained promotion to the Premier League in 2015.
