Would Arsene Wenger had gone if Arsenal lost to Man City.

The Gunners entertained the Manchester City (Noisy Neighbours) side in the titanic clash at the Emirates Stadium as both sides battled it out for 90 minutes with so much to play for as the season enters its peak stage.

The home side Arsenal were under intense scrutiny as some Arsenal faithful waited to see what their team has in stock following a dismal 3-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

With the tough test Arsenal faced at the Emirates many wanted to see how Arsenal would cope in games especially against the big boys as the performance of the team were crucial in certain decision to be taken in the long run.

The visitors Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City was hoping to leapfrog Liverpool who won the Merseyside derby against Everton 3-1 at Anfield to the delight of the home fans.

After beating the Gunners in the reverse fixture 2-1 after coming from a goal down (0-1) though at the Etihad Stadium and with the 3-1 defeat before the International break to West Bromwich the visitors had high hopes going into the game and were well motivated to get something out of the match against a troubled Arsenal side that was looking very much unstable and unpredictable.

Going into the game one question that was in mind as crucial it was is would Arsene Wenger leave if the Gunners if he had lost to City as they (Arsenal)were on a bad times before the Manchester City visit earlier in the week. Whichever way, the Gunners remains a top side and cannot be belittled or toyed around as an underdog as City approached them with quickfire momentum and caution to take the early lead in the game.

If City had underrated Arsenal it may have spelt doom for the Manchester City side and if things had gone bad for the visitors(so wrong) then the manager Pep Guardiola will answer some questions following their unsatisfactory exit from the UEFA Champions League to AS Monaco despite holding a 2 goals advantage from the first leg.

Be it as it may be even if Arsene Wenger had won or lost the game against Manchester City there is a wind of change in the atmosphere that tends to number the managers days at the club so it is not just dependent on the City game at the Emirates alone but on a whole lot of result in the days ahead including the 3-0 win over West Ham United at the Emirates thanks to Mesut Oezil’s brilliance in the game.

But one thing was certain if the visitors (City) had won at the Emirates then the top four dreams would have been dealt a huge blow (quashed) and this can really instigate an unceremonious end to Wenger’s reign at the club as fans/faithful will voice out their venom which they have been enduring for this whole period that Arsenal have been faltering on their way to the title. Win or lose the Gunners manager may stay on at the club till the end of the season or so as the certainty of his stay cannot be determined at the moment.

Wenger may likely not go as this might unsettle the players and the positive atmosphere around the dressing room as some of Wenger’s wards (players) are backing their manager with Alex Iwobi rooting for his manager (saying that Wenger deserve some respect) and (Arsenal fans are impatient) along with Mesut Ozil to name a few.

With the fact that the available managers or capable hands to take over the club are limited at this point in time. Wenger might stay longer than expected possibly with whatever happens in games till the end of the season.

It will be good if Wenger’s side win more games as this will help salve some respect for the manager and put to bed this distractions and talking points emanating from the club at least for the next few days so that Arsenal can maintain focus as the season gradually draws to a close.
