Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he may not run out the two-year-deal in his new contract.
After Arsenal’s English FA Cup victory last term, Arsene Wenger signed a new deal at the North London club, lasting over two years, to the frustration of a lot of Arsenal supporters, but the French tactician may not be in charge of the Emirates Stadium for as long as expected.
Depending on how Arsenal fares in the English Premier League, UEFA Europa League, English FA Cup and League Cup this campaign, his role could come under severe review by the gunners’ board at the end of the campaign, despite Arsene Wenger saying he respects his contractual agreement for the club.
In an interview with beIN SPORTS, as cited by The The Telegraph, the Arsenal boss revealed:
“I [Arsene Wenger] said I sit down with the [Arsenal] board every end o the campaign and see [discuss] where we [the club] go from there – so that [speculation] is not exactly the same.
That’s what I [Arsene Wenger] said – I [Arsene] have a two-year contractual [Agreement with Arsenal], I [Arsene Wenger] will always try to go to run down my contract but always honest enough to sit down with the [Arsenal] board and see where we [the club] go from there. So that’s simple”.
