Arsenal are tipped to sign Scottish defender David Bates from German outfits Hamburg, ahead of their Premier League rivals.
Daily Mirror reports that other Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham are all seeking for his signature.
Bates, who has been in stunning form so far this season in the German Bundesliga has also reportedly admitted he would have a switch to the North London.
His presence in the team can be felt having ensured they keep a total of six clean sheets this season in eight games, one of the highest that has been kept in the German Bundesliga this current campaign.
This has caught the attention of most of the Premiere League sides knowing that they have not been able to keep as many clean sheets.
Also, the North London side have got an inconsistent defence and they look to solve that problem with the Scottish player.
Arsenal under Unai Emery have become stronger in the attack and the midfield but that cannot be said of the defence as they play most games conceding.
However, there is a need to add more strength to the defence to ensure balance of the team.
Arsenal will return from the international break to continue their unbeaten run as they are currently sitting fifth in the Premiere League so far this season.
