Although Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has since announced his decision to part ways with the club for a new challenge with AC Milan, he still has some unfinished business with the club.
It has been revealed that Gazidis met Arsenal Supporters Trust (AST) before Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Everton on Sunday, to have his last words to them and also hand over Raul Sanllehi and Vinai Venkatesham to the fans.
Raul now takes over as the head of football while Vinai is now Arsenal’s managing director. Both new principals had resumed their new office six days ago.
A spokesman who attended the forum on behalf of the AST said the departing American billionaire had pleaded with the fans to forget the past and unite behind new manager Unai Emery and also other new officials.
According to the Arsenal supporters’ spokesperson, Gazidis handed over the new principals to the fans and sought for unity amongst them.
The 54-year-old noted that only unity can bring about the progress of the North London side.
Gazidis played a major role in ensuring the emergence of the Spanish manager following the exit of Arsene Wenger who left after 22 years as manager of the North London club.
