Arsenal eye starman to replace aging 35-year-old legend

According to Daily Star, Arsenal have identified Toulouse safe hand Alban Lafont as a potential long-term replacement for aging first choice goalie Petr Cech.

The Gunner’s current first choice goalkeeper enjoyed an excellent end to last campaign, but the 35-year-old Czech has been showing his age sometimes, so thoughtfully, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is now making plans for the future.

A lot of Arsenal fans believe the club already have a perfect replacement in Wojciech Szczesny, but the Poland international goalkeeper is almost certain to depart Emirate Stadium this summer transfer window.

The Polish has spent two excellent seasons out on loan with Serie A side AS Roma after losing his gloves to Petr Cech but a permanent transfer to Juventus is on the cards.

Arsenal number two goalkeeper last seasons, David Ospina, is also being tipped to leave the club in search of regular football, so the French boss is expected to sign another goalkeeper this summer transfer window.

The Daily Star are now quoting a report from French Publication Le 10 Sport that says Arsene Wenger is eyeing a transfer for Lafont after identifying the youngster as a potential long-term replacement for aging Petr Cech.

The 18-years-old has already played 60 matches for Toulouse and is tipped to become a senior French international having already represented Les Blues at youth level.
