Arsene Wenger’s team have endured another tough season this year, with specific players struggling to find their best shape and in turn, it has led to total disappointment in their chase of major titles.
Among that set of players has been defender Hector Bellerin, as the young defender hasn’t quite kicked on as expected after his promising introduction to the senior team.
The Spain international has played 36 matches across all competitions so far this term, but questions have been asked over his form this season especially considering he was dropped at Brighton earlier in the month.
In turn, it comes as no shock to hear of transfer rumour linking him with a departure, with The Daily Mail claiming that Arsenal are open to offloading him this summer transfer window for £50million, with Barcelona, Manchester City, and Juventus all specifically named as interested parties.
From a Gunners perspective, it’s also exciting to note that the transfer fee could go towards bringing in new players, with a goalkeeper, defender and midfielder thought to be on the wishlist at the end of the campaign, according to report.
If the Gunners were able to amass £50million for Bellerin, that’s good business. Although the player is still only 22-years-old and could still improve and develop, that’s big money for a defender which could be reinvested in the team to address problematic areas.
