Over the weekend, it was reported that Everton summer target Rachid Ghezzal still hadn’t signed a new contract with Lyon that was worth a reported €280,000/month wage.
Rejecting a move to Everton that could see him taking €400,000 each month, the Algerian forward could leave his current club on a free transfer in the next summer, and FootMercato even report that a number of clubs are interested in such an opportunity.
Some days back, some sources felt The Lyon offer isn’t close to Everton’s and the player seems to want to have his cake and eat it. They were of the opinion that If Everton don’t appear a high enough sporting level, then the Algerian needs to seriously consider teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal should they want him. Well, it appears one of the big guys in the EPL actually want him.
It was recently reported that these clubs: Monaco, Atlético Madrid, Valencia, AC Milan, Arsenal and Everton are all keen on bringing in the 24-year-old on a free transfer in June. Additionally, it was added that all clubs have been in contact with the player’s entourage regarding a potential move in summer.
Some people are already of the opinion that he is likely to listen to what Arsene Wenger and Ronald Koeman have to offer. And then an agreement could be reached quickly if the financial and football projects offered to him surpass that of his current club.
Ghezzal would sure add value to Wenger’s squad if he should eventually join the North London club.
