Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Nigerian-born Junior Jayden Adetiba to the team.
According to The Sun, the London side finalized the recruitment of the South Africa based player, who used to live in the UK
The process was completed with the player completing a five-week trial where he impressed the team’s coaches.
Adetiba had lived in South Africa and played for the SuperSport United Soccer School but will be expected to develop at Arsenal.
His decision to join the Gunners has been informed by his childhood support for Arsenal under former manager, Arsene Wenger.
Adetiba described the move to Arsenal as a dream one and spoke of his delight at the success of his trial.
In his appreciation, he thanked his parents for their support in making his dream a reality.
History tells us that Nigerian players have a record of success at Arsenal, starting from legendary forward, Nwankwo Kanu and Alex Iwobi.
Iwobi who came from the Arsenal youth team has won the heart of the club’s coaches and has been handed a first-team role.
His success at the club also earned him a call-up to the national team, where he made it to the Russia 2018 World Cup.
