Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied claims that the Gunners have submitted a £123 million offer for Monaco star Kylian Mbappe and expects the star striker to remain at the French club for one more year.
The North London club are in the race for the French man and reports in France earlier in the week claimed that Arsene Wenger had a three-hour long discussion with the striker about a potential transfer to the Premier League.
But when quizzed about the latest speculations of a world-record bid from the Emirate Stadium, Wenger answered: ‘That’s not true as well. People have a big imagination.
‘What we understand now with (Kylian) Mbappe it’s over £100m, after [that amount] it’s free to imagine what you desire, but we (Arsenal) have not tabled any bid.’
European heavyweights Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also made known their interest and have held discussions with the France international forward about the prospect of leaving Monaco.
But when Arsene Wenger was told that the 18-year-old starlet is likely to remain with Monaco for another season, the Arsenal boss replied: ‘Yes, it looks like that.
‘Too much choice, maybe. So in the end, people don’t move.’
