Chelsea current Italian manager Antonio Conte is so eager to bring Champions League football back to the Stamford Bridge club.
He is so much willing that he went ahead to watch Manchester City’s 5-3 Champions League game against Monaco last month.
The west London club have been without any European football this current campaign following their disappointing campaign under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink last season.
But as things stands now presently, Chelsea are well on course to be competing with Europe’s elite next year as they presently sit at the top of the league table, seven points clear of closest rival Tottenham Hotspur.
And the former Juventus manager has revealed that he was at the Etihad to help remind himself of what could be on the cards for his Chelsea side in regards to Champions League competition.
He confessed that he watched Manchester City game against Monaco because he desires to breathe the classic atmosphere again and to feel the type of game
“I watched Manchester City against Monaco because I wanted to breathe the atmosphere again and to feel this type of game,”
“For me and my players, I think the Champions League must be an appointment for us every year.
“The Champions League must be our home and for this reason we are putting all our strength into playing in it next season.
“It is a great competition for every single player, club and manager. We want to stay there and try to fight to win it.”
The Stamford Bridge club will look to extend their lead over Tottenham Hotspur to 10 points when they take on West Ham on Monday night.
