Former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise has hailed the quality of Andrew Robertson and his contribution towards the Reds’ quest to win both the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.
Riise was a former Liverpool left-back and the Norwegian was part of the Reds squad that won the 2005 Champions League final at the expense of Italian Serie A giants AC Milan.
Liverpool came from three goals down in the first half to score three second-half goals within six second-half minutes and force extra time.
The Reds went on to prevail on penalties to secure a fifth European title.
John Arne Riise knows all about winning titles and he has backed current Liverpool left-back Robertson as one of the world’s best in his position.
He talked about Scotland national team skipper Robertson in an exclusive interview with Goal.
The Liverpool legend was full of admiration for Andy Robertson who has become a stalwart in the Reds defence since his move from English Championship club Hull City in the summer of 2017.
The 25-year-old joined Liverpool shortly after Hull City suffered relegation from the Premier League.
John Arne Riise also backed Liverpool to go all the way to the final of the Champions League just like they did last season before they were beaten by outgoing European champions Real Madrid.
