Darren Ferguson has announced that the deal to bring Chelsea midfielder Jordan Houghton back to Doncaster Rovers has been finalised between his side and the premier league champions.
Jordan spent much of last season on loan at the Keepmoat until he picked up a knee injury that disrupted his time at the club in February.
Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Ferguson has monitored the player’s recovery over the summer and has been determined to strike a deal with Chelsea to bring Jordan back to his side for a second spell.
And Ferguson has announced that everything is now sorted for Houghton to return.
“He is all done,” Darren told BBC Radio Sheffield, breaking the good news that the deal has just been agreed between his side and Chelsea.
The manager added however that even though the paperwork has been completed, it won’t take full effect until Wednesday, but “it has all been done” and “It will go to the Football League now so we are delighted.” he added.
Jordan made 36 appearances for Doncaster and was given a start in every league game until the unfortunate injury in February.
He blended adequately to become an important member of Ferguson’s team and helped bring them back to the League One.
He was also shortlisted for the League Two Player of the Month in November and will surely be given more chance to develop this season at Doncaster.
