Former Premier League midfielder Robbie Savage feels Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez will prefer a transfer to league leaders Manchester City to work under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola instead of getting used to Jose Mourinho’s demands at Old Trafford.
The Chile international forward is out of Arsenal contract this summer and his future at the club is the centre of much rumour this New Year.
As a result of being available to leave for nothing when the season ends, the gunners may now look to sell the attacker while they still can, with top English Premier League sides keen to snap up the Arsenal star.
According to BBC Sport, Manchester City now look set to give up on a move for the 29-year-old South American as Jose Mourinho’s side step up their bid, but Robbie Savage isn’t absolutely convinced that is the preferred choice the attacking midfielder himself would make.
He admits that there’s a lot to be tempted by with a transfer to the Theatre of dreams, but feels the former Barcelona star would be better suited to working under the tutelage of his former manager Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.
He wrote in his column for Daily Mirror that as for him, he still believes the Arsenal star will sign for Manchester City.
A report by the Telegraph have also linked the forward as a possible transfer target for Chelsea, though Antonio Conte have surely joined the race too late.
