Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has told teammates he wants to leave the Emirates in favor of a move to Sevilla, according to reports.
Reports in Starsport claim that the Chilean star is ready to quit the Gunners after prolonged contracts talks and will join former boss, Jorge Sampaoli at Sevilla. Sanchez has been a subject of speculations due to his contract stand-off at the Emirates, with suggestions of a possible move to Inter Milan and Manchester City.
Sanchez has refused to sign a contract renewal with the Gunners, with reports that he wants a bumper pay rise to remain at the club; However,Arsene Wenger has continuously dismissed such claims, maintaining that the club will not be selling any of their key players to rival but might risk losing the duo of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez for free if their situation continues.
In related news, former Germany striker Oliver Bierhoff has claimed the Arsenal players have let transfer bound Mesut Ozil due to their poor performances.
‘If I look at Ozil, who was singled out following the 5-1 loss to Bayern, in that match there was not much support for a player like Mesut, who lives on his footballing qualities,’ Bierhoff told Sport Bild.
‘The team let him down a bit.’
Mesut Ozil has continually been criticised for his below par displays in the recent weeks as the Gunners continue to lag in the Premier League.
