Lille winger Nicolas Pepe has been named the winner of the Marc Vivien Foe Award after a stellar season in the French League this term.
The Marc Vivien Foe Award is for the best African player in the French top flight and it’s in the honour of late Foe who slumped while playing for his country Cameroon.
Liverpool target Pepe won the award ahead of Whabi Khazri of Tunisia and Saint Etienne & Ismaila Sarr of Senegal and Rennes.
Nicolas Pepe has been in devastating form for Lille since he joined the club two years ago.
The Ivorian international scoring machine signed for Lille from fellow French top flight side Amiens.
He has been attracting the interest of several European clubs in the transfer window including Liverpool.
Others like Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Arsenal are also in the running to sign him this summer if recent reports in the British media are to be believed.
Arsenal were interested in a move for Pepe during the winter transfer window but the Gunners were unable to get the funds required to make a transfer of that magnitude as they scrambled for loan deals.
Nicolas Pepe has scored 22 goals and also provided 11 assists in the league this season.
