Tottenham Wary Of Liverpool Threat For £20m-rated Midfielder

North London giants Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly mindful of the threat Liverpool poses in their bid to sign Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot after they came close to signing him in a £20m deal last month.

The Metro claim that Spurs were close to signing the midfielder until transfer plans changed as a result of the death of his father.

Earlier reports had claimed that Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino met with the player to discuss his role potentially in the Spurs team.

Adrien Rabiot is thought to favour a move to Liverpool over Tottenham Hotspur at the moment.

The Liverpool midfield has come under the football microscope on recent weeks and the Reds could strengthen that area with a move for Rabiot who’s on the verge of running down his contract with PSG.

The French champions are furious with the player who will leave the club without any transfer fee when they could have received £20m from Tottenham Hotspur for him during the recently concluded winter transfer window.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are not the only clubs interested in the young French midfielder.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona also want to sign the player.

Spanish giants Barcelona were overwhelming favourites to sign the 23-year-old until they signed Frenkie De Jong from Ajax Amsterdam last month.
