Former Torino full-back Davide Zappacosta has seen just 18 minutes of action since Maurizio Sarri became Chelsea manager and the 26-year-old is unhappy at Stamford Bridge.
He joined the Blues 17 months ago during Antonio Conte’s first spell as Chelsea manager but he failed to make any meaningful impact with the team, though, he didn’t have much time on the pitch to showcase his quality.
He served as a cover-up for Victor Moses throughout last season. This season one to forget for both players ( Moses and Zappacosta) as none of them was able to win Maurizio Sarri’s trust during the current season.
The Blues are ready to cash-in on his signature this month, but Zappacosta is short of suitors.
At first, Lazio were reportedly eyeing a swoop for his services and the Italian side were reportedly set to release £12m for his services.
However, the Blues rejected the bid, claiming the former Torino star is worth more than that. The Sun reported that Sarri is looking to receive an offer ranging from £15.5m and above.
The latest report surrounding the Italian future reveals Lazio’s decision to pull out of the race for his signature.
Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi said Lazio are no longer hunting for the defender’s signature due to Chelsea demand.
Sarri and his employers are in search of a new suitor for the player as they aim to release him in three days time.
