Premier League side Crystal Palace have pulled out of the race to sign Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke on a short-term loan deal until the end of the season.
The Eagles were initially hoping that the 21-year-old will sign for the club to add firepower to their ailing attack.
Crystal Palace have struggled for goals this season in the Premier League and are one of the lowest scorers in the English top flight.
Earlier reports had stated that the young England international striker had done his medicals with Crystal Palace but it seems like that will count for nothing following the revelation made by club manager Roy Hodgson.
The former England and Switzerland boss revealed that they have pulled out of the deal.
He made this known during his post-match press conference on Wednesday night after he led his team to an impressive 2-0 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Matchweek 21 clash in the Premier League.
According to Roy Hodgson, the loan deal for Dominic Solanke was more complicated than they envisaged and that played a big role in the decision to pull out of the scramble to sign him.
Schalke 04, Huddersfield Town, West Ham United and many more are also interested in Solanke.
