Emerging reports hint that English Premier League side Manchester United have finally succeeded in convincing Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea to remain at the Old Trafford.
The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper was earlier reported to be keen on leaving the club and refused to sign a new deal despite a plea from manager Jose Mourinho.
United were forced into activating the clause in his contract that will have him remain for another 12 months so as to convince him into staying at the Old Trafford.
It was therefore reported that De Gea has given Man United the condition of either increasing his pay or sack the Portuguese boss to be able to secure his signing.
However, there are hints that United have accepted one of the conditions to increase his weekly wage and not letting the former Chelsea boss leave the club.
Latest report according to Sun claims United are now ready to have him remain by agreeing to a new deal that will have him earn £400,000-a-week at the Old Trafford.
David De Gea is obviously one of the best goalkeepers in the English Premier League with United not sure of having a perfect replacement for him if he eventually leaves at the end of his 12-month stay.
