It’s obvious, Sarri has had a great effect on Chelsea since he came to Stamford Bridge. The team have worn a new look which makes them more like a team battling for the Premier League title.
However, Sarri’s positive effects have cast doubts on the future of some players who were largely effective during Conte’s tenure at Stamford Bridge.
Most of these players were Chelsea’s backbone in Conte’s title-winning campaign but they have found it too difficult to impress their new manager.
Having failed to command a starting place under Maurizio Sarri, these set of players desperately need to leave Stamford Bridge in the next transfer market.
They must move to another club where their respective talents and individual skills would be maximally utilized for the progress of the general team.
Who are these players?
Victor Moses
Two matches out of possible 12, that speaks how well the ex-Nigerian international has fallen out of favour with the former Napoli manager.
Moses was one of Conte’s most trusted players throughout last season, this is because the 27-year-old right wing-back was quick and physically fit enough to make untiring runs during games.
He definitely needs to move elsewhere as it appears Sarri isn’t a fan of 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 formation, which means there’s no place for him in the Italian setup.
Gary Cahill
Despite Sarri’s confession about the defender’s importance to his team, the Italian manager has used the England international just once.
Though Cahill has featured regularly in League Cup and Europa League, it is obvious the captain need to move to another team in January. He’s featured in one Premier League game under Maurizio Sarri.
Ethan Ampadu
Joined the Blues during Conte’s last season at Stamford Bridge, the move is definitely a regrettable one for the Welshman.
Ampadu has failed to play a single match for the Blues so far and the future isn’t bright for the youngster should he decide to remain at the West London club
Andreas Christensen
Christensen was one of Conte’s regular centre-back last season but the table has turned since Sarri took over from his compatriot.
His recent form hasn’t helped matters too as he had failed to impress in the little game time he’s gotten so far this season.
Though young, the 22-year-old need to move to a new club ASAP, so as to continue his development.
Danny Drinkwater
He made the worst decision by joining Chelsea last season as He has never been given any chance to feature in any competition so far this season.
With Jorginho, Hazard, Kante and Kovacic’s form, coupled with Sarri’s tactics, the 28-year-old is far from seeing regular game time for the rest of the season.
Emerson Palmieri
A quality left-back wasting on Chelsea’s bench due to Marcos Alonso’s consistent performance.
The player is no doubt a great player but faces huge competition for a place in the team.
A move to a mid-table club in January or in the next summer window will do him a whole lot of good.
Cesc Fabregas
The Spaniard has featured in three League games this season but his Chelsea’s future is uncertain. The ageing 31-year-old midfielder is behind Kante, Jorginho, Barkley and Hazard in the pecking order, making it difficult to break into the team soon.
Callum Hudson-Odoi
A loan deal in January will be best for the highly rated Chelsea academy product.
He’s far from being in the starting XI due to intense competition, therefore, January move is inevitable for the youngster.
Reuben Loftus-Cheek
Three games out of 12 Premier League matches isn’t a good start for a player of his calibre. Despite Sarri’s decision to retain him till the end of the season, the Englishman must force a loan move out of Chelsea in January.
Davide Zappacosta
Last one the list, Zappacosta is being used as second fiddle to Cesar Azpilicueta and that shouldn’t be the case considering the player’s ability and form.
Despite Azpilicueta’s uninspiring form so far, Sarri still keep faith in him, meaning Zappacosta isn’t rated by the former Napoli manager.
A move out of Stamford Bridge in January or after this season is definitely going to happen.
