With third choice keeper David Ospina set to leave the club any time soon, Arsenal are keen to replace him with Newcastle shot-stopper Freddie Woodman in the coming January transfer window.
Ospina’s woes at the North London side started with the coming of Bernd Leno from the German Bundesliga side Beyer Leverkusen in the summer transfer as he shot down in the pecking order to the third choice.
The Columbia international keeper is no doubt unhappy at the club and has reportedly reached an agreement to have him leave on a permanent move.
However, the Gunners have identified Woodman who has great talent and potential as a perfect replacement for the goalkeeper.
Woodman still has a contract with Newcastle until 2020 with a release clause of about £3 million but manager Unai Emery has expressed confidence in capturing the player.
Meanwhile, the goalkeeping department in the North London side have settled with Leno and Petr Cech providing the cover and all doing well at the moment and they have both helped the club with their 15 games unbeaten run at the club.
The Unai Emery side will hope to continue the unbeaten run against the Bournemouth when they later converge after the international break.
