When asked about his plans for the upcoming transfer window, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp didn’t rule out at the possibility of adding new players to his squad in the upcoming January transfer window.
Despite spending a whopping £175m in the summer transfer window, the former Borussia Dortmund man told reporters last week he could be actively involved in the next transaction period, however, he admitted it all depends on his injury list and form of his players.
As a result of Klopp’s recent comments about the transfer market, it’s certain the Reds are set for another active transfer period, but the question is who is in Klopp’s January transfer target. See the list players likely to be in the manager’s list below
Nabil Fekir
Nabil Fekir is a very popular name to all Liverpool fans across the world, not just because he’s a world-class midfielder but as result of the controversy surrounding his failed move to Anfield last season.
It was reported that the Reds had already reached an agreement with Ligue 1 side Lyon for his signature before the summer world cup in Russia.
Surprisingly, Klopp pulled out of the deal, siting at Fekir’s knee recurring injury as the excuse.
Unfortunately for Klopp, the creative midfielder went on to have a fine outing for his country at the world cup. He has been wonderful for his Ligue 1 side so far this season.
With the Reds inconsistent showing at the middle of the pitch coupled with Klopp’s admiration for the player, Liverpool could be back for the £50million-rated star player in January.
Christian Pulisic
Young but wonderful, Christian continues to see his stock rises with intense speed.
The American youngster was linked with different clubs in recent transfer markets but none of them were able to lure the 20-year-old out of Borussia Dortmund.
With so many attacking players at Anfield, it looks unnecessary to add a young striker to the team in January but klopp already has high hope of getting the youngster anytime soon.
Aaron Ramsey
Yes you heard it right, Aaron Ramsey could be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium by the end of this season having failed to reach an agreement with the Gunners hierarchy over new contract deal.
Liverpool are only going to pay small amount for his signature, else, the Reds have huge chances of capturing the Welshman in January just as they unexpectedly snapped up Chamberlain from Wenger’s watch last season.
January transfer market shouldn’t be klopp’s priority as there are many unused players in the team. He need to focus on winning a silverware for the first time in three seasons
