Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has defended his under firing striker Romelu Lukaku against criticisms.
Lukaku has been criticized for not scoring a goal for his Old Trafford team in eight games and was again found wanting in their 1-0 Champions League defeat against Juventus.
The Red Devils manager is not concerned about the player’s poor form as he vows to keep faith with him for their weekend Premier League clash against Everton on Sunday.
He has scored a total of four goals in 13 games this season with the manager believing he can do more if given more time to settle well.
The former Chelsea boss described the Belgium man as a fantastic player with good professional qualities that is needed for a team do get better.
Admitting that the player has not been doing well in terms of goal scoring, Mourinho added that he has lost his confidence and now lacks good movements that ought to help him link up with the team.
Howbeit, Mourinho hints that Lukaku still gets the nod over other strikers including Antony Martial and Marcus Rashford in his team, citing the fact that the player has been hard-working.
The former Chelsea boss is confident that the player will soon find his goal scoring form at the Old Trafford.
