Manchester United have approached Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to reports.
The 28-year-old has been a subject of transfer interest from a couple of clubs in Europe due to his solid displays and composure in the midfield area for the Serie A giants.
Chelsea tried to sign him last summer but failed in their bid as Roma decided to hold on the midfielder for another season, confirming the offer, Nainggolan said: ‘Yes. I talked to him [Conte],
‘They were really interested and wanted me over there.’
Reports in Il Tempo has now claimed that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has spearheaded an offer for the midfielder this summer with hopes of luring him to the Old Trafford.
It is understood that United made a proposal of a contract worth €7.5 million (£6.6m) per year for the Belgian but he, however, rejected the offer and told United that he wants to remain in Rome.
Prior to this report, there were suggestions that Manchester United were considering an offer for the midfielder when asked if he had gotten an offer from the Red Devils, Nainggolan replied: ‘Maybe it’s true, maybe it isn’t.
‘Right now I just want to go on vacation, then we’ll see what happens.’
