Tottenham Boss Makes Promise To Chelsea About His Side In The Title Race

Mauricio Pochettino Makes Promise To Chelsea About His Side In Title Race

Mauricio Pochettino is confident that Tottenham can continue to put pressure on Chelsea in the title race.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has promised that Tottenham will continue to put lots of pressure on Chelsea in the Premier League title race following their 4-0 victory against Stoke City on Sunday afternoon.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were looking to bounce back from a 2-2 draw with Belgian club Genk in the Europa League at Wembley in midweek which saw the north London side lose 3-2 on aggregate in the Europa League last 32.

They also suffered a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in their last Premier League game at Anfield before they play the Potters at White Hart Lane this weekend.

Tottenham talented star player Harry Kane, took his tally to six goals in his last two games after back-to-back hat-tricks in their domestic games to help his side ease to a comfortable win against Mark Hughes’ side.

As things stands now, Spurs are now 10 points adrift of table leaders Chelsea with 12 games left to play in the title race as they look to win their first-ever Premier League crown.

Pochettino speaking to BBC Sport about Tottenham’s chances in the title race said:

“It was a fantastic performance. It was a good response from the team.

“Ten points is a big gap [to Chelsea] – but we keep going and believe.“We try to put on pressure.”

Manchester United Too Are Still In – Valencia

And on the same vein, Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has claimed that his side still have a chance of catching Chelsea too in the race to win the Premier League title this campaign, insisting that they still have what it takes to win the title this season.

“Winning the cup could give us even more impetus, as we’re already pretty high on confidence.

“It’s a big thing for us, there are around 15 games left in the Premier League and anything can still happen.

“While we have a chance mathematically, we will carry on battling to try and win the title.” he stated.
